In 2022, I started working with My Dream Now as an external IT management consultant, upgrading their digital infrastructure to manage hundreds of volunteers across Sweden.
My Dream Now is a social company that inspires youth to dream about their future careers or academic pursuits. Through different programs, My Dream Now helps the youth they’re working with learn about different industries, find their passion, and connect them with people from relevant industries to kick-start their professional network.
The project included:
- Mapping out the current tech stack, challenges, opportunities, and goals with the project,
- Gathering data on time consumption for current processes to prioritize and measure success after project completion,
- Data mapping and data source mapping,
- Requirement sourcing and requirement engineering,
- Creating a comprehensive plan to build, implement, and train their staff on the new management system,
- Sourcing the right type of systems that would work well with their existing tech stack,
- Negotiating with suppliers,
- Integrating several new systems, including a database system, CRM system, and automation system,
- Building a volunteer portal where their volunteers could more easily engage with their various programs and training sessions,
- Conducting user interviews and gathering feedback on the newly implemented portal to improve the final solution,
- Developing training material, holding workshops, and delivering a user manual for the new management system to their staff.



The result was an easy-to-manage database for their employees, where they can track all their volunteers, training sessions, and attendance at various activities. On top of the database, I built a web portal allowing volunteers to create their own accounts, sign up for training sessions, get info on upcoming activities, and much more. The management system also included integrating automatic reminders sent through an integrated CRM system, automatic digital contract management, and dashboards for key KPIs.
